Mitchell Residence

Project Goal: A unified look of casual elegance is achieved through the repetition of a few select colors, textures and southwest motifs. Those are incorporated in the window treatments, wallpaper, lighting fixtures and decorative accessories throughout the house.

Saddle brown suede polyester fabric covers the valance over the guest bedroom. The goblet pleats have ties at the end of each pleat. Actual rope was used as decorative trim.

Mitchell dining room

A look of elegance and drama in the dining room is created by sage green swags with cascades. They hang from black wrought iron rods with arrow finials. The Tiffany chandelier has a black iron chain and a diamond pattern also in sage green.

The kitchen bay window has Mock Roman shades in a rich red cotton fabric with black ties. The geometric design in the lighting pendant echoes the shape of the adjacent living room cornice.

In the living room, the off-white cornice is defined by black cording along the edges. Two attached decorative bands have an Indian pottery motif on a black background. Plates with Indian portraits are displayed above.

Saddle brown suede polyester fabric is used for the dog eared toppers in the guest bath. They have a black arrow tie motif on each end. The wallpaper has a faux stone finish, and a border with a prehistoric pattern of horses.
